Lukuvuosi lähestyy loppuaan / the academic year is reaching its end!

As I've also had a double-role at the Koskela Primary School this winter, big part of the communication with the parents has happened in Wilma. Some of the parents have contacted me via Käpylä Music Schools email-address. 

Johtuen tämän lukuvuoden kaksoisroolistani (toimin koulussa myös laaja-alaisen erityisopettajan sijaisena tämän talven) , suurin osa kommunikaatiosta vanhempien kanssa koskien tätä projektia on tapahtunut wilman kautta. Jotkin vanhemmat ovat ottaneet minuun myös yhteyttä musiikkiopiston sähköpostiosoitteeseeni.

One of the main purposes of this blog was to try to find a way to communicate with the parents and colleagues, and there is still work to do to accomplish this- I've been trying to think how to improve and will continue to work on that.

Blogin yksi tarkoituksista oli löytää kanava, jossa vanhemmat ja opettaja-kollegat voisivat jakaa ajatuksiaan projektista ja antaa palautetta. Tämän kanssa tulen seuraavaksi tekemään töitä!

I want to thank you all for this academic year; the 'Koskela Primary School'- project has exceed expectations this winter. I collected some feedback from the class today, and it was really nice to hear how comfortable this music tuition has been for the most of the group!

Haluan kiittää kaikkia perheitä tästä lukuvuodesta; Koskelan projekti on ylittänyt kaikki odotukset. Kävimme tänään yhdessä koko luokan kanssa läpi tunnelmia kuluneen vuoden musiikinopetuksesta, ja oli hirmuisen mukavaa kuulla, kuinka hyvältä opetus on suurimmasta osasta lapsia tuntunut!

Saimme Helsingin kaupungilta rahoituksen, joka takaa musiikinopetuksen jatkumisen ainenkin seuraavaksi kolmeksi vuodeksi- lastenne ryhmä tulee siis olemaan koko 1-4 luokkien ajan musiikkipainoitteinen!

Käpylä Music School was able to enable the funding for the next three years, so your children will be the lucky ones to gain this extra music tuition all the way, from 1st to 4 th grade!

Next semester I will continue as a principal teacher of this project. My whole job description next year at Koskela Primary school will be only music with few S2- tuition classes. The plan is to continue as a part-time Music teacher and as a part-time researcher, as I will be concentrating more in my PhD.

Minä, Riikka Ahokas, jatkan tämän Koskelan projektin pääopettajana ensi syksynä. Toimenkuvani Koskelan ala-asteella tulee pitämään sisällään vain musiikinopetusta (paria S2- tuntia lukuunottamatta) ja tutkimusta- keskityn väitöskirjaani enemmän ensi syksynä.

         You are all most welcome to the (Käpylä Music School's) folk music spring fete this Friday at Karjala talo. The children 've been learning few estonian folk songs that will be group perfomances, if they want to participate. There will be warm athmosphere for sure. Please let me know if you want to attend! The children should be at six at Karjala-talo where there will be a group rehearse. at 6.30 pm the fete starts. 

        Tervetuloa perjantaina kansanmusiikkiopiston kevätjuhlaan (Karjala-talolla). Olemme opetelleet lasten kanssa paria virolaista kansanlalulua, jotka esitetään kaikkien ryhmien yhteisesityksenä. Karjalatalolla täytyisi olla klo 18 harjoituksissa, ja tämä yhteisesitys on heti juhlan (klo 18.30) aluksi. Vastaathan tähän viestiin, jos pääset osallistumaan!
