Tämän päivän ensimmäinen tunti pidettiin koko 33 oppilaan ryhmälle: kävimme vielä läpi lauantain konsertin laulut, ja konserttipäivän ohjelman. Jaoin lapsille vielä koteihin vietäväksi tiedotteen konsertista ja toiveen siitä, että mahdollisimman moni vanhempi ilmoittaisi pääseekö heidän lapsensa mukaan lauantaina!

Today the first music lesson was held for the whole group of 33 students: we went through the songs and schedule of the forthcoming concert and concert-day. I also attached a paper note for the children to be brought home- including a hope that as many as possible of the families would notify me whether or not their child is able to participate on Saturday!

Päivän kaksi muuta musiikkituntia me käytimme uuden vironkielisen kansanlaulun opettelemiseen. Projektin alkaessa yksi suunnitelmistani oli tuoda jokaisen luokan oppilaan kotikulttuurin osia kaikille ryhmäläisille esiteltäviksi, ja tänään siis tutustuimme virolaiseen perinteeseen. Kaikki lapset olivat hyvin innoissaan! Opetin toiselle ryhmälle myös yhden suomalaisen toisinnon opetetusta laulusta.

The following two lessons we divided the group in half. At the beginning of this project, one of the objectives for the lesson structures were to always bring something from the students own domestic cultures to classmates to share and learn. Today we learned Estonian folksongs and the children were excited to learn something new about their classmate at the same time! I also taught a Finnish ('toisinto'), very similar version of the song we were learning, for the children .
